[moneydance] Get rid of CUSIP-Broken?

I just noticed that my Edit Securities list (Tools menu) in MD 579
contains 16 different entries titled 'CUSIP-broken:nnnnnn' for
different values of 'nnnnnn', e.g. H89231338. If I edit one of them,
I'm told that the 'Security' is CUSIP-broken:nnnnn, the Currency is US
Dollar, and the Price is 100. There are no entries in the history(?)
fields. Clicking on the Edit button, I get an 'Edit Security' box
revealing the 'Security ID' to be '^nnnnnn', the same Name as above,
no ticker symbol, but a Value Suffix of '??shares??'.
Attempting to Delete one of these from the list results in 'Cannot
remove currency that is being used'. Makes me wonder what
CUSIP-broken:nnnnnn is being used for.
I recognize one of the CUSIP 'nnnnnn' values from some cleanup I also
just performed (apparently successfully). I noticed that a few
securities were duplicated in the securities list, a couple
transactions on one, the rest on the other. Same name. Editing the
security in the Security Detail page showed them both with
'CUSIP-broken:nnnnnn' in the disabled popup. After moving the couple
transactions from the first one to the second one and deleting the
first one, the remaining entry for the security no longer showed
'CUSIP-broken:nnnnn' but the actual security name instead. One of
these I recognize as the first 'nnnnn' in the Edit Securities list.
The CUSIP-broken: entries don't appear in the security popup, e.g. on
the Securities Detail page; they must have been turned into
currencies.
I have to wonder what's going on. They're obviously garbage, but can't
be deleted. At least they don't seem to appear anywhere else; at
least, now that I've cleaned up the duplicated security names they
don't show up anywhere else I can find.
