[moneydance] Moneydance doesn't run on Kubuntu

I am in the process of setting up a new PC with Kubuntu for my
desktop.  Ran the installer for Moneydance with Java.  It all
installed just fine, but it won't run.  When I try it from the desktop
menu, I get the pulsing curser and then it dies.  If I try it from the
command line, nothing happens at all.  I tried doing a chmod on the
moneydance.jar file, still get the same results.  I am wondering if
anyone else has it running on Kubuntu?

One note, I have not installed Java on this machine as yet and Kubuntu
doesn't install any by default.
