My version is KDE; a Gnome version is available as well.

Nothing queues in the print job control program (called KDEPrint) when I try
to print from MD. Normally when you print something it queues there. When I
commanded an e-mail to print, it showed up in KDEPrint and printed. A report
I generated in MD and tried to print did not show up there and did not print.

I suppose this indicates that the problem is not with CUPS or KDE. That is,
if other programs forward print jobs through the system, and they do, that
should imply that the problem is not in CUPS or KDE. Java is probably the
culprit. Alas, I would not have any idea what to do about that.

I do hope so. I have XP installed using VMWare, but I'd rather not go down
that path, if I can help it.

Thanks for the reply Bruce. I am replying to the 'reply to' in your e-mail,
but that's not the MD mailing list. I'm going to reply to it as well; I
hope the message finds its way to the right thread, but I really don't know
how that works.

Thanks again,
