Could you please tell me what version of Java you are running?

java -showversion
would do that.

In my case:
root at kinda jre # java -showversion
java version "1.6.0_06"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_06-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 10.0-b22, mixed mode)

Do you use CUPS for printing?  If so, what device do you use?
That would be in the web interface -> printers -> modify printer -> device

In my case it is HP Laserjet 4100 series LPT #1
Normally I just lpr for printing from the command line but I guess MD 
does it differently.
