I think some CPA heads would explode if you showed them debt accounts with money owed to them reflecting a positive balance. 

I think that the 'most people' you refer to do not /want/ to understand that a credit card balance is a negative thing:) They want to keep living their life without seeing the big minus sign in front of the debt that they owe compared to the typically smaller number that follows the plus sign. 

Maybe that's why MD is not more popular? [said with tongue planted firmly in cheek]

And now that I've discovered that Moneydance has the ability to flip the
signs around on accounts by type, it makes me wonder why this is not
done for Credit Card or Loan or Liability accounts, because most people,
I think, would expect it to work this way.
