The problem is that US "quarterly" estimated tax payments are not due 
every three months. They are due (if your fiscal year is the same as 
the calendar year) on April 15, June 15, September 15, and January 
29. Or something like that. At any rate, the intervals (ignoring the 
different day in January) are 2, 3, 4, and 3 months.
