[moneydance] What do you keep? (was: Possible feature request)

Hello,

Yes, I do. Almost every transaction I have has a related scan (in a
separate program called ReceiptWallet for the Mac). I was using a
Canoscan 90 for a while. I use an HP Scanjet 7400 now, it has a
document feeder. Since the Mac and print to a PDF file I use that
feature when getting my statements online.

It sounds like a lot of work, but it only takes a me about 30 to 45
minutes a week to scan and sort everything and make sure all of my
accounts are up to date and pay bills. It's great during tax time and
when dealing with warranties.

It's pretty much the same as you described. I to shred the originals
after I make sure they are scanned.

I also keep in the same program:

User guides/Manuals (The program also has a section just for documents.)
Tax Returns
Mortgage related documents
Insurance documents
Contracts
Statements

I think that you get the point. Everything. Just about all of those
are available as PDF's from the websites of the companies. Originals
of important items are also kept in a safe after I scan them in.

Do you think that a Moneydance plugin could add this functionality?
I'm sure there are some talented people out there that could do it.

Just my 2 cents...

James
