If you think this would be simple, then you don't have a lot of accounts. ;-)

Certain types of accounts have different capabilities, so just changing the 
type without restriction would not work in general. If this problem occurs 
frequently enough in conversion, then it might be worth the analysis effort 
to determine exactly what types of accounts can be converted into what 
other types, and what has to be changed when this happens. The coding most 
likely would be fairly trivial, but the analysis would be critical.
