[moneydance] MD freezes then unfreezes

i got a short reply from MD (sean) that when MD is auto-saving, it  
"locks" the data... so this does make sense, EXCept that my auto-save  
is off!

i guess the question then is, does MD write to files in the background  
even if auto-save is off.  if it does, then maybe (like your flash  
drive), my saving to .mac is the problem.

i would note that i save a lot of files to .mac (eg Word, Xcel, other  
apps etc) that have auto-save functionality, and none of them freeze up.

that said, i am still a big fan of MD and have no regrets since  
switching from quicken years ago.  i hope someone can shed more light  
on this.
