[moneydance] How to run an account in a separate file?

On my iMac, I have separate data files for me and for my mother (I take care
of her financial affairs). I have aliases to those files in my Dock, and MD
opens when I select the data file.
Additionally, in the MD File menu, there is an Open Recent File item that
shows both data files, so I can quickly switch from one to the other from
within MD.

If your partner has a separate user login on your computer, and the MD data
files are located in separate home folders, the partner should not be able
to casually access your data if he doesn't have your password. Now, I should
add that if the partner is really determined, and has physical access to
your computer, there are probably ways he could still access your file, and
encryption would be advisable.

I'm describing Mac OS X features, but I presume most of this would apply to
Windows or Linux as well.
