I'm not sure this would work that well. I fairly often enter checks out
of sequence. Oftentimes I'll write a check, only to find that my wife
wrote one earlier and forgot to enter it. Usually looking back 5 will
find the highest number.
Perhaps if MD just looked at the check numbers in a specific account
only and looked at the last 5, it would work well for everyone.
