[moneydance] VERY CONFUSED

I downloaded the trial program and proceeded to import my MSmoney files.
To 
say the least, I am confused.
The good news is my checking account seems to 
have come through just fine.
Coming along, however, I assume from some entry 
over the last 15 or so years, are accounts I have not yet transferred.
The 
totals of these phantom accounts are beyond comprehension.
Following the 
instructions, I created new Moneydance files precisely as they appear in MSmoney 
and then
proceeded to import the respective MS Money files. If they had 
already "appeared" I import the files to these accounts.
Given investment 
accounts do not show up separately but by individual investment.
Except for 
the above mentioned checking account, NONE of the totals make any sense.
I am 
not an accountant. I am an old dog but quite willing to learn new tricks. 

Until my various accounts are in Moneydance showing me the correct totals or 
a clear, understandable variant thereof, I am stuck!
Since I am planning to 
switch from Windows to a Mac, I have to find a compatible multi platform 
program
and Moneydance seemed to be ideal.... until I tried to use 
it!
HELP!!!!!
