[moneydance] VERY CONFUSED

Oh, if it were that simple.
I started again, fresh.
I established every account from MS Money in Moneydance - spelled exactly as they are in MS Money.
I also established "bank" accounts in Moneydance for each of the cash accounts in Money as instructed. I named these cash accounts as they are in MS Money not duplicates of the Investment accounts to which they apply. Perhaps that was a problem.
In any case, after all this, the number of shares in each MD account is correct. The Cost basis is correct. The value of the account, however is screwy. In addition, there are entries I neither want, need nor understand.
In addition, the available reports do not permit customization and seem to come as either graphs or charts but not both.
Bottom line, my frustration level is rising and while this medium provides helpful
hints, I don't know where to go for a comprehensive instruction manual for MD.
The other finance programs for the Mac OSX are not available for Windows so I can't experiment until I make the giant leap.

Hello Steve,
I did the same move last year (and many people before me), with only 5 years of transactions.
After opening an empty MD file, first define all accounts as they are defined in MS M. Then start to export the QIF files in that order and import the files
 in MD.
Only a few adjustments are then needed, in order to get the same situation in MD.
