Just installed today's Java Update 4 from Apple on my iMac. Just before the
update, I had run MD with no trouble.
After the Java update, when I run Moneydance, while the small Moneydance
splash screen is still up, the following alert appears:
?Cannot launch Java application
Uncaught exception in main method:
java.lang.UnsupportedclassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file?
The only choice is to Quit.
I tried rebooting, but the problem remains.
My MD is probably the most recent preview version (can't tell for
sure, because it won't come up far enough to display the About box).
>From the text of the alert, it appears that MD is confused by the new Java
version number. I hope this can get fixed pretty quick.
According to macnn.com:
<<
TheLeopard
patch<http://macnn.com/rd/133379==http://support.apple.com/downloads/Java_for_Mac_OS_X_10_5_Update_4>,
Update
4, is said to improve the "reliability, security and compatibility" of Java
by updating Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_13, J2SE 5.0 to 1.5.0_19, and J2SE 1.4.2 to
1.4.2_21.

Thanks.
