I'm not sure, but I think MD computes the next check number by incrementing
the largest check number it finds already in the register.
So if the new batch of checks starts with a smaller check number than have
already been entered in the register, you may just have to enter their
numbers manually. Or you could create a new MD checking account and transfer
your balance to the new account, then resume entering the new checks there.
Or, depending upon how many old checks you've already entered, you might go
back and change them to smaller numbers.
And next time you
get a new batch of checks, be sure and specify a starting number
greater than the last check number in the current batch.
