[moneydance] Check layout

I now have my Mepis 8.0 with Moneydance printing however something strange is happening with the check layout.  When I print out the test for 3 checks per page and I have set the printer to print letter not A4 as I am in the US, I get a test print where the first check is (I do not have the printout here so this is an "remember") say six grids vertical and the next two checks are 9 vertical.
Any ideas, thanks.
