[moneydance] How To Change The Balance Amount?

When I set up my bank account, the first transaction shows a balance that I did not enter and that is wrong. I cannot change this Balance number (last column to the right), next to the Deposit column. I am new at MoneyDance.  I would appreciate your feedback on how to correct this. I did correct the Balance Amount from the "Edit Account" option, but that number lives above the register and does not seem to impact the Balance column in the register. Thanks.
