Yes, that's always worked for me when I did a fresh install.
You'll need to re-enter your license key, of course, so make sure you  
still have the e-mail that contains the license key.
You'll also need to re-set up your preferences (including the Home  
Page layout), so if you spent some time setting things up to get them  
just right you might want to take a screenshot or some notes of how  
you like things to look.
